HydroGeoclimatic Lab Invites Passionate Researchers!

The HydroGeoclimatic Lab would be committed to advancing research in the field of hydrology and climate science. We're actively seeking for passionate researchers to build a dynamic team with diverse background and skill sets who are eager to delve into our research areas or bring their novel ideas on related fields. Our dedicated research group specializes in hydro-climatology, and if you share our enthusiasm for this field, we strongly encourage you to reach out via email. We seek researchers with one or more following skillsets:

  1. Expertise in hydrology and water resources engineering and interest in developing strong computational skills.
  2. Mathematical modeling: Passionate in building a strong quantitative foundation (e.g., statistics, probability, optimization, linear algebra) and an interest in applying state-of-the-art ML/DL techniques to water resources and Climate science.
  3. Experience with programming languages such as R/MATLAB/Python/C/etc. Knowledge on parallel programming and high performance computing is an advantage.
  4. Familiarity or expertise with hydrologic modeling methods.
  5. Good large data management and analysis skills.
  6. Good communication and technical writing skills.

Prospective PhD students are encouraged to apply to the Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering (HWRE) PhD program. The Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras conducts PhD interviews biannually. Prospective International Joint PHD Scholars

Prof. Sunil Aryal and I are looking for highly motivated research scholars for a joint PHD program between the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and Deakin University, Australia .
This pioneering initiative involves cross-disciplinary research and offers scholars the opportunity to earn an international joint Ph.D. degree with a generous scholarship. Additionally, students will have the unique opportunity to conduct their research at both IITM and DU.
